We've Taking Care of the Details—So You Can Relax Deeply...
You'll have access to complimentary self-parking, library, infinity salt-water lap pool, solar hot tub, exercise pavilion, use of spa & locker room facilities, and wireless internet in public areas (although we will kindly ask you not to read, take notes, or go online during the retreat itself). There are also 50 acres of coastal forests, trails, and gardens to explore.
You may check-in as early as 3pm local time on Tuesday, February 7th. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. that evening, and retreat starts at 7:30pm.
The retreat will end no later than Noon on Sunday, February 12th. It is recommended that you book your room for one additional night after the retreat ends, to allow for integration and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. This can be arranged by contacting Hawaii Island Retreat directly; (808) 889-6336.
Experience the Power of True Connection, Starting with You...
This is a highly structured retreat, creating the conditions for you to turn inward and experience something deeply profound about yourself. Therefore, during the retreat we will ask you to refrain from communicating with others outside of the retreat processes. We will also ask you to refrain from sexual activities with others or yourself during the retreat.
Give Yourself the Gift of Digital Detox...
The retreat is designed for you to immerse into a no-time, no-mind state of heightened awareness and deep meditation and flow. Because electronic devices, texting, email, and especially social media are addictive by design and erode true connection, they are counterproductive to what we'll be creating during our time together. Therefore, on the opening night of the retreat we will offer to safe-guard your watches, phones and all other electronics. If you prefer, you may lock your digital devices in your vehicle as well.
Dissolve into Surrender; No-Mind, Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Go...
Clear instructions will be given throughout the retreat and bells will be rung so you'll know when it's time to wake up, start processes, begin or end meals, rest, and be back in the room for the next process.
Although the retreat is intensive and immersive, you will have sufficient opportunities for napping, or to enjoy activities in silence such as walking or jogging in nature, swimming in the salt water pool, or soaking in the solar-heated hot tub.
Immerse in Meditation, and then the Spa...
Overlooking a lush and exotic valley, the property’s spa pavilion includes a full range of superb, natural services—including bodywork and healing treatments such as lomi lomi massages and energizing body wraps.
Note: Tuesday before the retreat starts, or Sunday afternoon after the retreat ends would be ideal times to book spa services (your body will love you for it!) We won't have time for this during the retreat itself. Additional nights and spa services are not included in the retreat price and need to be booked in advance with Hawaii Island Retreat directly; (808) 889-6336.
Love Your Body; Caffeine, Alcohol, Smoking, and Drug Policies...
This retreat is designed to help you gain awareness of your own subtle, natural energies. Therefore, substances that alter your energy or mind are counterproductive to our processes. Coffee and caffeinated beverages will not be offered during on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday as we will be in deep meditative processes (you can do it, it's only a few days!) You will likely be surprised how much energy you can access through high quality connections, nature, and meditation.
Alcohol is counter-productive to what we will be doing together, and will not be offered or allowed during the retreat.
Hawaii Island Retreat is a non-smoking property. However, if you need to smoke there is a public access trail nearby which is off-property where smoking is permitted.
Any substances which act as pain-killers, including over-the-counter medicines or medical marijuana, may decrease your chances of having a transformational experience. We therefore encourage you to avoid any unnecessary over the counter medicines during the retreat.
Any illegal drugs are strictly forbidden.
However, please do continue taking any prescription medications, and do whatever is required to take good care of your health!
In addition to the possibility of having a direct experience of self-transcendence, you will also be learning valuable life-skills—how to practice mindfulness, how to actively listen and authentically express yourself, and how to expand your consciousness by bringing presence and awareness into relationships and your daily life.
You'll also learn how to maintain and build upon these skills in day-to-day life. By the last day of the retreat, you will have learned The Magic Mirror Technique®—a contemplation practice inspired by principles from developmental psychology and mindfulness. This 20 minute daily morning practice brings structure into your daily life, building resilience, opening creativity, and helping you to move forward towards whatever is most important to you. It also helps to build presence, reducing self-defeating thinking and negative emotions.
